Biology 9 & 10
An Introduction to the Animal World
The course aims to enable the students to appreciate the diversity of animal life on earth; know the basic anatomical and physiological features shown across the animal kingdom; understand the influence of humans on animal life; and apply the scientific method to even non-scientific endeavors.  In this regard, primary topics of discussion include a survey of the major animal phyla, biodiversity issues, and a functional approach to the various vertebrate organ systems.  The course allows the student to apply his or her unique perspectives as a non-Biology major to biodiversity issues that demand the concern of all.
