Sent Assistance for Ondoy Victims
in Quezon City Public Schools

The Filipino community in Guam and Singapore organized a relief drive for students of Quezon City public schools who were affected by Typhoon Ondoy.  Donations of assorted toys and school supplies from Singapore,  which was organized by Mrs. Paulyn Novales, arrived last November 26, 2009.   Last December 18 and 19, 2009, 600 packs of goods were initially distributed in 12 public schools in Quezon City, including the ACED partner schools and the LEAP schools.   The student-beneficiaries from these public schools expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the donors:

Last December 23, 2009, two more 20ft container trucks arrived in Ateneo, loaded with relief goods from Guam.  The donation was organized by Atty. Rodney Jacob of Calvo & Clark LLP in Guam and Mr. Emilio Uy, Chair of the Filipino Community in Guam.  The goods include canned goods, clothes, blankets and medicines.  The ACED staff and some volunteers are currently  preparing the bags of goods for distribution within the next 2 to 3 weeks time.

"We would like to thank you for giving us gifts.  This will make our family happy this Christmas.  We will pray that God may continue to shower His blessings.

God Bless you all."
