The Rotary Club of Makati
and the Makati Rotary Club Foundation, Inc.

In 1996, Past President (PP) Evergisto C. Macatulad, who was then president of the Rotary Club of Makati, started a teacher training program for 100 public school teachers from the Division of Makati.  This is the first ever teacher training program of the Ateneo through the Ateneo Center for Educational Development.  From then on, the Rotary Club of Makati has been an active and faithful partner of ACED in its various endeavors in upgrading the public education in the Philippines through public school teacher training programs.

The Club continued this effort even until the death of PP Macatulad in 2002.  In August 19, 2004, the Club's Board of Directors decided to name the program PP Ever Macatulad Teacher Training Program (PPEMTTP) in honor of PP Macatulad, under the chairmanship of PP Renato L. Paras.  In school year 2006-2007 PP Paras passed on the program chairmanship to PP Macatulad's son, Mr. Francis Macatulad, who is also the Club Secretary.

Just recently, school year 2008-2009, the Rotary Club of Makati has embraced the ACED Total Schools Development approach and adopted the Division of Parañaque, with 31 public schools, as its beneficiary.
