Laptop and LCD Projector for LEAP Schools



In its commitment to one of the program's goal of encouraging growth and innovation in education, the Temasek Foundation-National Institute of Education, Singapore Leaders and Educators in Asia Program (LEAP), in partnership with the Ateneo de Manila University, a set of laptop and LCD projector were given each to the nine (9) partner public schools.

The said equipments were distributed through a turnover ceremony last February 23, 2009 by the school principals.

Mrs. Carmela C. Oracion, ACED Managing Director and Asst. to the University for Basic Education, mentioned in her opening remarks that "these laptops and LCD projectors, which symbolizes innovation and advancement in technology, can serve as effective instruments for improving student achievement in our LEAP schools."

Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, S.J., president of the Ateneo de Manila University, emphasized the role of the public schools in nation building and challenged the principals to keep their students to stay in school for them to have a better future.  He also asked them to continue to work hand-in-hand with the Ateneo in the upliftment of the public school system.

Dr. Josefina T. Perlado, principal of Ramon Magsaysay (Cubao) High School, gave a response on behalf of the LEAP partners schools, have expressed her gratitude not only for the equipment given to them but also for the leadership seminars, trainings in Math and Science and character formation seminars that were organized for them.  She also mentioned that camaraderie among themselves was developed because of these activities.

To assure that the equipments will be properly utilized, training on how to use these equipments were given to the teachers last February 28, 2009.

As for our battle cry this year, it's "Let's Educate more teachers And Propagate LEAP practices. 

That's one big LEAP ahead!
