A Fellowship Night in the Puno and Puno Law Offices

14 August 2009

5:30 – 6:15 PM

Last August 14, Friday, the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations, headed by Mr. Hector Guballa, Director for Development and, Mr. Jun Dalandan, Director for Alumni Relations visited the Puno & Puno Law Offices at the 12th floor of the Philippine Stock Exchange Building in Ortigas to talk about the 500@150 Sesquicentennial Scholarship Campaign.

The Puno & Puno Law Offices, the “bluest law firm” in the country, as Justice Ricardo C. Puno (Founding Partner) described it, is comprised of around 80% Ateneo alumni lawyers, a perfect venue to promote the Ateneo theme of Nation-Building through the 500@150 Scholarship Campaign.

Emceed by Mr. Dalandan, the program started with the welcoming remarks of Atty. Regis V. Puno, Senior Partner of the Puno & Puno. The 500@150 Scholarship Campaign is introduced by the event speakers namely, Fr. Ben Nebres, S.J. and Mr. Guballa with the accompaniment of various inspirational audio-visual presentations on true Ignatian spirituality.

The program ended with the closing remarks of Justice Puno on behalf of the entire Puno & Puno Law Offices as he gives a short and inspiring speech about the generations and generations of Ateneans who have come and gone his way through his years of being a lawyer and a teacher. Delighted with the night’s worth of Ateneo inspiration, Justice Puno announces that the law firm’s doors are open and shall remain open for the Ateneo.

Indeed, the program meant not simply to ask for scholarship donations, but also to be able to reach out to the Ateneo alumni, both old and young, to reconnect them with their roots, and to make them remember the true meaning of being Ateneans: to be men and women for others.
