The Rotary Club of Makati, in their continuous and unwavering support in the ACED programs for the development of public education in the country,  has embarked on a new partnership with the Ateneo, along with the local government of Parañaque and the City Schools Division of Parañaque, in a city-wide project for the development of all the public elementary and secondary schools in Paranaque City.

In November 28, 2008, the Project for the Development of Public Schools in Parañaque was formally launched with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement by all the stakeholders: the Ateneo de Manila University through ACED headed by Mrs. Carmela C. Oracion as its Managing Director; the Rotary Club of Makati, represented by Mr. Francis A. Macatulad, Club Secretary and PPEMTTP Chair, Mr Johnny Carlos, President of Makati Rotary Club Foundation, Inc., and Mr. Gabriel Quemado, Chair for PEP.;  the local government of Parañaque represented by Vice Mayor Gustavo Tambunting; and Parañaque City Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Eduardo V. Lopez.

The Launch and MOA signing was witnessed by all the principals from the 31 Parañaque public schools with representatives from their student body and the PTA.   Other representatives from the Rotary Club and the local government were also present to witness the event which was held at the Parañaque National High School - Main.

The ultimate goal of the Parañaque Public Schools Development Project is to be able to create sustainable growth in the quality of education in Parañaque City public schools through concrete, relevant and needs-based interventions.
