2000-time to say qoodbye. The veteran director's 34 years of service to children's theater was coming to an end. It was time for retirement from teaching at the qrade School. And finding himself at the pinnacle of his career, Singson felt fulfilled.
For his last Hurrah he presented Sa Ngalan ng Ama, written by Edna May Landicho of VP, with music composed by Liesel Tiamson, also from V.P.
He passed the torch to Dennis Araullo, a man much younger than he but not a stranger to ACT, being its assistant director in the last 3 years as well as a member of the grade school faculty.
Araullo debuted successfully with Agyu, a tribute to the rich culture of the Philippine tribes written by Dennis Marasigan.
Then in 2002 he turned back the hands of time. Happily and excitedly, like his wards, he produced The Wiz.
"We decided to go back to English and to Broadway Musicals," he enthused. "We're keen on The Wiz' message of following our hearts to where it leads us to become what we are. Yes, we're all for following our rainbow."
