APS Degree Programs Offered

The Ateneo Law School (ALS) offers the unique Juris Doctor (J.D.) Program to students who desire to become effective lawyers in the tradition of Jesuit character and education.

The J.D. program is an enhanced version of the Model curriculum that is technically a cross between the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree and the Master of Laws (LL.M) degree. It is a rigid and enriched law curriculum which responds to the current needs of the legal profession and the changing conditions of our society. It emphasizes both the principles and theories of law as much as its practical aspects. Students are required to undergo two summers of apprenticeship in a law firm, in court, in the prosecutor’s office, or in a government agency with quasi-judicial functions.

The program is completed in 4 years of academic study.
