AteneoHS wins RIFA football game against La Salle Antipolo, 5-0

Ateneo de Manila High School’s varsity football team won over La Salle Antipolo in the RIFA Elite Division game that was held on October 12 at the AHS football field. The final score was Ateneo-4, La Salle-0 in the game which began at 5:30 pm and ended at 7:15pm in the AHS football field.  

As seen at the end of the video playing above, Ateneo’s first goal was from a free kick by Emilio Pelaez in the game’s 35th minute. The other goals all came in the second half. The second and third goals were by Gino Clarino,  the third being a penalty kick. The fourth goal came courtesy of Rain Uybarreta, while the fifth and last one was scored on a penalty kick by Eric Figueroa.

Todate, the AHS blue booters are second-seeded in the RIFA Elite Division tournament, with a win-loss-draw card of 4-1-1. They won their games against Xavier, San Beda, Faith Academy and La Salle Antipolo, and drew against International School Manila. Their only loss was to Far Eastern University, which is the top-seeded school in the championship.
