SAMPLE OF MINUTES OF CPO MEETING

Minutes of the August 30, 2002 CPO Meeting
GRADE 4 – IFUGAO

1. Meeting started at 8:25 a.m. with 23 parents in attendance.

2. Opening Prayer was led by Digna Santos, CPR.

3. Mr. Sanchez welcomed the parents of 4-Ifugao, after which he briefly introduced Digna Santos, CPR.

4. A brief introduction of the parents was done next in order for everyone to get to know each other.

5. Mr. Sanchez then discussed the boys’ 1st qtr performance and     behavior to-date as well as the 2nd qtr expectations. Some of the comments were as follows:

·   Boys are sometimes still a bit childish. They have to be constantly reminded on proper behavior inside and outside of the classroom. Boys are bit too active and playful. They are very reactive to jokes and is a bit hard to get their attention back. The teacher has to keep on reminding them to speak in a loud voice and answer in complete sentences.
·   Boys’ academic performance generally OK with close to half of the class receiving honors.
·   Mr. Sanchez reiterated the need for the boys to follow their set study hours at home. Parents are enjoined to honor the time set by their sons.
·   Boys should also be responsible for: 1) preparing their own bags and school requirements at home to help them get into the discipline of doing this themselves, and 2) filling in their quiz charts, which they should be doing in school.

6. Mrs. Santos discussed the various activities of Grade 4 for this year. A one-page summary of key dates will be provided to all parents for ease of reminding.

7. Election of officers and Salu-salo committee chairpersons were done. Elected were the following:

Asst. CPR/Program Committee  – Mrs. Mafin Yonzon
Secretary/Physical Arrangements – Mr. Mikal Rallonza
Asst. Sec./ Games – Mrs. Jeannette Reyes
Treasurer/Food Committee – Mrs. Cristy Echevarria
     Asst. Treasurer/Prizes – Mrs.Mabel Sanchez

8. The following food items were agreed upon by the parents for the Sept. 28 Salu-salo:

  • Lechon (to be donated by 2 parents)
  • Puto and Kutsinta (to be donated by CPR)

The class agreed to the food assignment scheme and the payment of P50 for prizes. Food and prize donations were also encouraged. Food assignment of parents will be discussed in a separate CPO meeting together with Mr. Sanchez.

9. Mrs. Santos closed the meeting at 9:25 a.m. with a closing prayer. Final parent attendance at time of closing was for 35 students. (According to Mr. Sanchez, parents of all 41 students attended the PTC).
